To the unfortunate fate of high school seniors

Are you a senior in highschool? Are you slacking right now because you've already accepted your university offer? Do you want nothing more then summer to come faster? If your answer is yes to any of these questions then you shall be forewarned as nothing good is going to happen during the next few years of your life. You may be stoked about finally graduating from high school but trust me, you'll start to miss it. My job here is to prepare you, so that you're not living in a fantasy world. One word comes to mind when the term "University" is mentioned. And it's not heaven. University is rape...all kinds of rape. First, if you're the lucky soul who gets to live on campus or on "res" then you probably will have more fun than the unfortunate commuters. BUT your gpa will surely suffer. Unless your of course, supah smart. And I haven't met a lot of supah smart people. Even when I asked a student who was incredibly intelligent, her grades also suffered from living on campus. Of course, you think it's all fun and games but it's definetely not. Everyone says that in first year, your marks do a nose dive. Obviously this is a fact, but why make it one? Do you really want to fall in that category of the "majority"? I didn't think so. And generally, if you do horrible in first year, chances are that you're not going to do amazing the next. So when setting your standards, do them reasonably. If you want to go out and party, by all means do so. But remember that there will be consequences. When talking about the workload that university has to offer, trust me, you'll start to think that high school was a breeze. Even my school, that supposedly "prepared" me for university with every isu assignment, and in-class essay, didn't do jack shiet to prepare me for university. I mean it did something, but very little. You just have to learn on your own. And that's basically what it is...independence. I know we all strive for it when we're wanting to buy our own car, house or make our own money. But when this word comes with school work, it only means evil. So steer clear. If you need help then get help! It's a much better feeling than if you're in the final examination room struggling with the 3 hour long math exam. If you remain focused and throw in some fun in there as well for your own sanity, then you'll be fine. If not, be aware of a significant drop in your gpa and possibly a huge-ass debt. Have fun kids :)
