Am I a stupid girl for even dreaming that i could?

Love. Oh how we misuse this word. I don't think that there's one standard definition of love, because it means different things to different people. And thus, I don't think there is such a thing as love. I mean yes, we have a type of "love" towards our family and friends. I'm talking about the type of love that we find for in a potential husband/wife. I'm not too sure that it exists. The notion of love that is glamourized in the movies is something most people would like to experience when it comes to their real life relationships. I used to think that was stupid, childish and just not practical. But now im thinking, we have every right to believe whatever it is we believe in. What we think love should be, how we think our significant others should treat us. We're allowed to have high expectations. We shouldn't have to compromise. Girls should be treated like they're princesses. Guys should do anything to make them happy. Of course that doesn't mean that we should be rude or anything. But I shouldn't lower my expectations for anyone. Because I've tried that and in the end you realize that you don't want that and you're better off. I thought that when I was in love, nothing else would really matter. And that's how it should be. Because you know when you're compromising, you know that it doesn't feel right. Maybe this is a sign that human beings are better off without this emotion labelled "love". I don't know. All i know is that this is not the age...because we are young, heartache to heartache we stand..haha kidding, but yeah we are far too young to make these things called compromises? And apparently you need those in order to survive relationships. So until you find the one person who can make it feel like the movies, you're better off without anyone (:
